Maine GigSpam

Check it:

The FRANK MAUCERI Quintet

Frank MoSherry, tenor sax
Tim O'Dell, alto & soprano sax
Mark Tipton, trumpet
Sam Sherry, double bass
Steve Grover, drums

Playing very beautiful and challenging music of Frank Mauceri

New Spiffy Auditorium, Bowdoin College, Brunswick
Thursday, April 17th @ 7:30 p.m. on the dot

GREAT band -- two bona-fide international artists, two guys who used to hang in NYC, one Monk Competition gold-medalist (and me, definitely bringing up the rear). Frank's music is detailed, improvised, hard, intuitive, broken, swinging . . . I've been playing with Grover for ten years and December's concert by this band was the best hookup we've ever had.

Be there or be somewhere else . . .

TONIGHT 9-10:30 Eastern I'm on the radio and streaming through the e-universe courtesy of Maine Public Radio.

Hassan Mohammad Trio:
Ahmad Hassan Mohammad, piano
Dylan Sherry, saxophones
Sam Sherry, double bass

Playing melodic modern jazz, including some of my tunes.

Hassan is an amazing 19-year-old pianist from Cincinatti. Dylan is a fine young saxophonist. I drive. (Y'know, I'm used to be the oldest, and I'm used to being the fattest, but I am NOT used to being the shortest!)

Listen live online if you like.

Hey Sam, I was on the road an unable to listen in but hopefully I can find this in the archives. Hassan is great, heck, all you guys are wonderful. I am sure was a killer performance.

Peace!
