Not a joke, I'm thinking, but a long-shot question launched from the wrong forum. I moved it from "Orchestral Auditions" to "Miscellaneous".

"Miroslav Philharmonik" is a VST instrument (orchestral sounds) used in recording. Our questioner is betting that someone here on TB might know the answer...

mandingo, you might want to try KVRAudio for questions on things VST...

Or over here:

I think there might even be a reasonably current Miroslav thread

off topic a bit.

Wow, there's load of information on this forum on orchestration including flash scores and excerpts... check this out, and scroll down for the doublebass stuff.

should probably get it's own thread but no time for that now.

I just got over a severe case of the floops. Feeling better already.

"its muffled resonance, the double bass is little capable of broad cantabile phrases and only in unison or in octaves with the 'cellos. In my own compositions there is no phrase of any importance given to the double bass without the support of 'cellos or bassoons. "

In the time of Rimsky-Korsakov, that was probably pretty true...
