Nah; he's large, but slow-moving. Although he did look kind of intimidating on the cover of this old LP of his I ran across in someone's basement last week--the title was something like "Ain't No Ambulances For No [incendiary racial epithet in the plural] Tonight".
What about Toots Thielemans? I've always assumed it was pronounced as in "Tootsie" or the Sam Spade kind of "See ya later, toots," but I run across people calling him "Toooooooots" as in "to toot your own horn." (Then again, I also constantly run across people who spell "lose" with two o's, as in "Green Bay will loose both regular-season games to the Bears this year," so who knows.)
