Monterey Jazz Festival Tour

I just saw the Montery Jazz Fest band with James Moody on tenor and flute, Terance Blanchard on trumpet, Benny Green on pno, Derrick Hodge on bass, and Kendrick Scott on drums. The concert was excellent and there were opportunities for bassist Derrick Hodge to display is exceptional abillities. I caught them in Gainesville, one stop on their 54 city tour.

Walkin' the Dawg

Just some unsolicited movie trivia - In Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the gentleman walking the invisible dog is James Moody. Clint Eastwood, who directed it, is a big jazz fan who also on the board of directors of Monterey. Did you happen to go to Fisherman's Wharf? Great chowder and great town!
