need help evaluating conservatory choices

I am looking for info on BM double bass performance programs and jazz studies programs. Need help evaluating choices for next all.

My son plans to pursue an undergraduate double degree in double bass performance and jazz studies and has a number of great options and would like input/feedback to help with the decision he needs to make by May 1st. (Scholarhips will also weigh heavily, but here I am just looking for input unrelated to the cost factor)

He knows he's going to have to work really hard to do this and wants to find the best place to do that to best help him develop in both disciplines.

Manhattan School of Music
Jazz: Harvie S.
Classical: TBD

Michigan State
Jazz: Rodney Whitaker
Classical: Jack Budrow

Peabody
Jazz: Michael Formanek
Classical: Paul Johnson

Oberlin
Classical: Tom Sperl or Scott Haigh
Jazz: Peter Dominguez

Any and all input would be welcome. THANKS!

I'm confused, was he accepted to those schools, or is he looking for schools to apply to?

If the latter is the case, then he should also look at NEC, the New School, Juilliard, Cleveland, North Texas, etc.

Sorry for the confusion. He's been accepted to these schools. All have a dual degree classical/jazz option except Manhattan where the process for continuing his classical studies is not a formal structure, but can be arranged on a student-by-student basis.
