New to realbass!

Hi, I've been a regular at the BG section for quite some time, and I just today received my first upright. It's Tim Sway's Kay '51 C1, and it's SWEET! I got it so that I would be able to really hone my jazz chops on the "legitimate" instrument, which will not only help my skills, but also should help my credibility and hireability as a player. I'm surrounded by amazing jazz guys at Berklee, and now I have the opportunity to not look like a poser when playing jazz!

Psyched is me!

That's great, Snarf! I'm don't know about how you'll find it, but picking up the real bass was the most rewarding and all around best thing I ever did for myself. The learning curve is steep, but I'm sure you'll manage. Stick around on this side, there's a lot to learn .
