From the blog post, my understanding is that Peter retired a few years back.

Yes, Peter Dawson retired some 6 years ago and a younger guy named Kurtis was running the shop.

I spent weeks trying to convince him to let me manage the store so it could stay open but in the end he decided that living so far away from Ottawa that he just didn't want to do it.
