It's the second Monday, and that means Western Caravan will be at the Rodeo Bar, 3rd Ave. at 27th St., 9:00 start. Good food and drink, no cover, and NY's only realdeal Western Swing/Honkytonk band. TBers, come up and introduce yourself, and I'll buy you a beer.

Is that the club in NYC where I caught Buddy Emmons years ago? He brought the house down. I believe a former banjo teacher of mine, Bruce Cutler used to play there. If my recollection is right, that club is like an oasis in the middle of a desert.

It wouldn't surprise me to hear Emmons played the Rodeo Bar-it's been around a while. Western Caravan has been playing there 12-13 years or so.

Have a good one. My son Kenji, goes to College in Poughkeepsie at Marist College. He is on a baseball scholarship. He said that a bunch of the guys on the team want to come down in February to catch the Western Caravan. Please keep us posted.
