| | | after all.....it's really just a big box with strings on it. Leave your good one at home. If the bass is damaged somehow (hard to imagine it won't be), it's nobody's fault but yours. And more importantly, make sure you don't hurt yourself, because if you hurt yourself, the same thing applies. Hope the gig went/goes well.
Aside from that, I suppose this thread has been was an opportunity for a few old TB members to do some cyber saber-rattling.
I'll never be out of here, that part of TB DB too entertaining! |

About a week ago they had a nighttime low dip down to about -18C , or about -8F. That's still good skiing weather, as far as I'm concerned. But the last few days in Calgary have been up around freezing. Typical Calgary winter weather: sometimes bitter cold but usually pretty mild as Canadian winters go.

Your weather on January 3rd was downright balmy. When we got a temperature rise that drastic in Greenland it usually indicated the coming of a "phase," an Arctic storm with very high hurricane-like winds, a virtual whiteout.

The stage had heaters, but with no walls, their range was no more than a few feet, and I kept the bass far from them.
With the soundcheck and a rehearsal and a run-through, the bass was outside for about 12 hours. I put it together and took it apart in the cold too, so it maintained coldness from the flight there. Used the cold room in my house to ease the temp down the night before.
Thankfully, the weather was above seasonal norms, it was within 5 degrees of freezing (0C) all day.
Here's a video of the gig: http://video.citytv.com/video/detail...-2013-calgary/ |

for the video for some weird reason Safari on Mac just kept looping the 1st TV commercial over and over again. Firefox worked fine.
Is that you with Serena Ryder? A few seconds of arco intro then off to the electric bass guitar...? Did you play the URB more on stage than that? |
