My favorite stool that's lightweight and very comfortable is the Double Trolley.
I've stopped using the trolley as i dun travel much with the real upright these days but station the stool portion at a regular club date.
It's adjustable and have very comfortable cushioning.

Thanks. Those are some nice options. Any opinions or anyone familiar with this?

I hated these. I've used them as timpani conductor stools before and while the backrest is nice, they are heavy and tend to spoil faster than other stools.

I've started using this...

It's pretty hefty, so the idea of it being "portable" could be disputed. It does break down. I like the fact that the foot rest is actually set out in front of the seat. And the price is right.

+1 on this thing. My friend, and great bassist Gerald Spaits recommended it to me so I ran out and bought one today. It is very sturdy, the seat is comfortable and I expect it to last for many years. With adjustment in height from maybe 22" to over 30" and seat adjustment front or back,it should fit any player comfortably.
The backrest is removable also.

I believe it has been discontinued so buy one now.
