Praise for Fretwell Bass

I bought my first upright bass from Jerry at Fretwell Bass in Staunton VA a couple months ago. I've loved it and had a great experience buying from Jerry.

I just took it in to Zack for it's first needed service and I have to say the level of service, friendliness and professionalism there just isn't something you see anymore.

If you live within driving distance pay them a visit, if not, they sell online and are a top notch shop.

I agree. I bought and old Sherl & Roth bass and took it to Jerry and Zack to have it set up. They did a great job on it, and didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need. I drove to Stanton from Charlotte, NC, and the distance is worth the difference. Anytime I might need an adjustment or repair, I'll make the drive again. These people know how to treat customers.

another big plug for fretwell's. i've only been there once but i can't wait to go back (hopefully with enough $$$ to buy my first u/b!). jerry was great. he talked to me for at least a half-hour, gave me advice, recommendations and even showed me around his workshop area a little bit. their stock is fantastic too. you can tell he takes great pride in his instrument and his business.
