I just e-mailed Peter last week to see what his current prices are. The 5 string goes for 32, 000 Swiss Francs which is about $29, 500 CDN. I'm guessing that's around $20, 000 US plus shipping from Switzerland. Too bad he doesn't still live in Canada - he used to be an hour drive from me!

There's a very interesting article on Peter in the November issue of Strad Magazine - check your local violin shop for the issue. Most stores keep back issues in stock.

That's a gorgeous bass alright...unfortunately, it sells for more than I make in gigs in a year. I really like the shoulders.
