| Just Jake. He was wonderful. We did some stuff together.
On one of those Dick Gibson concerts, they had us play with Johnny Smith and Chet Atkins. When it was time for Chet's solos, Chet would turn around and tell me to lay out, right in front of a packed auditorium. You know, he played his own bass lines in his chords....I'd quit and Jake would quit too. Chet turn around and say "No....YOU play." Jake just said...."No bass,........no drums." Chet got to play by himself.
You gotta love that.
He'd introduce his wife, Denise, and say:" Dis is Denise, then point to you and say to her..."Dis is De-Uncle".
