Recent visit to Upton Bass

Alright campers, on the way to the Rhythm and Roots Festival this past weekend, I stopped in Mystic, CT to visit Upton Bass. Living in the Midwest, I've never had the chance to stop by the shop. If you haven't been there, then I give it two thumbs way up. First of all, the town of Mystic is pretty cool, oozing with charm. Upton Bass has uprights, violins, violas and cellos. The front of the shop is pretty small overall, but still enough room for several uprights and other instruments. I met Josh Dubert and he let me play one of the Upton bass instruments. I played a Hawkes Hybrid model and all I can say is that Josh almost made a sale on the spot. What terrific booming tone - really sweet. So, the place is just as cool as the UB web site. The shop is easy to find, just south of I-95. Thanks Josh and everyone at UB.

Sure wish I knew the answer to that. If you are curious, call Upton and ask them. They had only one model of that bass on the floor.
