A request for help...

Greetings!

I just got a general midi file for the accompaniment to Faure's Elegy from The Virtual Accompanist. The accompaniment is for the International edition in cm. I have, and am working on, the McTier edition in gm.

Does someone have a sequencer and a sound card with a good grand piano patch that would be willing to take my file, transpose it down to gm, set it at MM=62, and rip an MP3 of the accompaniment for me? I don't have a sequencer to do the transposition/tempo, and the GM piano on my laptop is horrible! :-)

If the MP3 turns out to be to large to email, I'd be happy to pay for postage and CD.

Alternately, if someone knows of a good freeware sequencer (with a decent piano), I could use that myself.

Many thanks and best regards!

Jim

If you can email the midi file, I might be able to dump it into Finale and transpose it. Then I could re-save as a midi file and send it back your way. It might work, but I'm out of town for the Holiday so I wouldn't get it done until Monday. Worth a shot though.
