My understanding is that the Golden Spirals are not currently in production but when they were, they were $45 for a D string. Even the Golden Tone D is only $56.
Someone is either playing games with the auction or is just too stupid to realise what the string is actually worth or just really, really stupid or perhaps they think they are bidding on a whole set (in which case they also aren't too smart).
