RIP Norton Buffalo

Harmonica Master Norton Buffalo passed Oct. 31. I'm posting here, as I know Norton loved DB, and some of the folks in the TB community may have connections with him. He traveled extensively, and made music with lots of people, covering a lot of territory musically and geographiclly. I shared the stage and recorded with him several times, and feel very fortunate for that.

He was great. He had his own sound and phrasing. I always dug that solo on Bonnie Raitt's "Runaway".... and pretty much everything else he did. I saw him a couple of times.

Marcus, you might know more about his Hawaiian Maui Connection. He told me he enjoyed collecting seeds (no, not ***those*** kind) for his botanical garden there. He loved Maui.

Yup, he did. Never got to talk to him.

His partner in that link, George Kahumoku, is the real deal. Teacher, great musician, rancher/farmer, and just all around good guy. I'm sure he and Norton enjoyed talking and sharing in the world of botanicals.
