San Francisco...

Hey, I just moved down here (see thread title) and would be interested in finding out where you guys are playing. So let me know if you have any gigs or know of any places to go hear good music. Thanks, and hopefully I'll see you around!

For the more avant garde/free stuff you can always look here:
http://transbaycalendar.org
It is a great city, different things happen on both sides of the bay.

There's new stuff cropping up all the time.

* Def check out Yoshis (www.yoshis.com) both in Oakland and in SF. Big names show up at these places.
*Dogpatch Saloon. Vince Lateano should still be running the sunday jam sessions.
*Savannah Jazz
*Jazz at Pearls
*Amnesia (bar). I think their jam session is still going there. Mitch Marcus runs it. Rumor has it that Joshua Redman showed up a couple times or something like that.

Restaurants that feature jazz:
* Shanghai 1930. Andrew Speight runs the jam sessions on tuesday?
* Ana Mandara
* Bacar (Scott Amendola of TJ Kirk coordinates the music and plays there. Guys like Akira Tana will show up there from time to time).

plenty more I'm sure I forgot to mention.

PM me sometime. Maybe we hang out and have a beer.
