Screwed over on a gig

So theres a weekly jam in my area and when the kids who run it now leave i was supposed to take over with a keyboardist and drummer. I got a message today on myspace of all places from the keyboard player saying he wants to be a duo because he needs to work on left hand bass and that it was a mistake that the bassplayer in the group now told me I was going to be part of the band when they go to college.

Honestly the kids playing it now hate the gig so I dont mind not doing it but the keyboardist himself told me I was doing it with him when he got picked and then sent me a message on myspace?!

Anyways theres a killin vibes player around here so I might pick up a weekly friday night gig at a ritzy hotel somewhere with a drummer and make more money then them.

anyways end rant i just needed to vent.

Feel better? :-)

I understand. Sounds like a gig you didn't want/need anyway, but in the small world of jazz musicians, it seems like people would understand the value of picking up the phone or meeting for coffee to make changes like that.

Keep doing your thing and remember who you want to be playing with and who you don't later on.

Wink Say "thank you."

Some people readily demonstrate their "rectal orification" skills, to save you the research. Lesson learned, and before you made a big investment...
