SIMON BOLIVAR YOUTH ORCH from Venezuela

Ok so I saw these guys at a sold out concert in Houston last night. It was sooooooooooo good. They are conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. These kids sounded like professionals. Bass section was great, too. (They had 14 bassists!) Anyway, they played Suite 2 from Ravel's Daphnis and Chloe, which was my favorite of the concert. Next was a Venezuelan piece I wasnt familiar with, and then Tchaikovsky 4, which was really good, too. They played Mambo from Bernstein's West Side Story twice as an encore. We were clapping for literally 15 minutes before the encore. If anyone gets a chance to see this great orchestra on tour, you really need to see and hear these guys. There are some great videos of them on youtube, but none of them are anywhere near as great as I saw last night.
