Smallest car for your bass

does anyone out there have a good small compact to recommend for a 3/4 bass. I live in NYC and want to stay away from the stationwagon/ van scene. Suggestions??

Depends on what else you need to haul, but I've had my eyes on the following compacts for my next automotive aquisition (when my current car breaks down):

VW Golf
Toyota Matrix
Ford Focus

I haven't measured them out, but my test drives will definetely involve loading in my string bass, BG, and combo amp.

Do a search of this forum. There are a couple of threads about this. There are URB players with small cars such as the Scion Xa, Mini Cooper, Hyundai hatchback, Toyota Echo, etc. Some have even posted pics with their bass in these cars.

I used to gig with a 3/4 upright and a small amp in a 70s-vintage VW bug.

A few of my friends have commented that the new VW bugs are among the best proportioned for the circumferentially challenged.

How in the hell would someone ever fit a 3/4 bass in a Mini Cooper?

My first bass-mobile was an AMC Pacer - I'd kill to have one (that ran!) again!
