http://www.avalonbarandgrill.com/entertainment.html Opus 4 is an all-star jazz combo featuring four first-call musicians with the talent and chops to play anything. This time out they'll revisit the "Chitlins Circuit" with the Hammond B-3 organ sound from the 1950s and '60s. They'll feature some material from the creator of the genre, Jimmy Smith, and also some hard bop classics by Horace Silver, Benny Golson, Thelonoius Monk, Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan, Herbie Hancock, and others. David Scoggin is on organ, Michael Vannice on tenor sax, Jim Calhoun on bass, and Theresa McCoy on drums.(Photo, left to right is Jim, Theresa, David. Michael is not pictured.)
