Spotted gigging in Atlanta...

So I was Googling some jazz sites for Atlanta, and came across a link for the Hyatt Regency Suites in NW Atlanta, and guess whose picture popped up?

That's the Harry Pickens trio, but we've never played in Atlanta. Funny thing about that picture, though...it has showed up for sale as framed art in galleries and as postcards, and the photographer never asked any of us for permission to sell it. Looks like it's become a generic "Jazz trio having fun" plugin pic.

I thought it was you, although I was getting ready for someone to say, "Uh, Jim... that ain't Chris" since no one had replied. That is funny about that picture making its unauthorized rounds.

It was taken at the Jazz Factory, and the first I heard of it was when my sister in law saw it in a gallery and bought it as a present for my wife. Small world, what?

I thought he was waving at somebody?

CHRIS - just check to see if somebody at the Jazz Factory signed a release form.

You could always call the Hyatt and ask them when you are booked in, since they have your picture up....

As a matter of fact, while I DO relax my left hand while an open string is sounding, I gotta say that I was not much pleased with the particular moment our cloak and dagger shutterbug chose to pull the trigger.

PMS - howdja do that caption thing? Looks like fun. Can you show a dimwitted Macophile how to do that in 25 words or less?

Save the file to your computer. Open it in a image editor (PC has 'Paint' with the OS). Add words, save, post. Ya did, dude?

Lessee: 25 words on the nose, but will admit to having to add the Cali/Bop phrase at the end to make the quota

Maybe a Mac sort can tell you what the free image-editing options are on the bubblegum machine.

Dainty touch w/ that left hand fling thing all right.

I can't believe others have (mis)used your pic in the ways you've described Chris. Flattering and somewhat disturbing at the same time.

You're just jealous because my left hand doesn't have four hooves, a snout, and a curly tail.
