Talk Bass to merge DB and BG Content--OH NO!

I just read this announcement: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/announ....php?f=1&a=228

And I'm SCARED!
Change scares me (except for things like banning Jokey Schmoe of course--THAT kind of change is good!).

The instruments have a few things in common, but what will this really mean for the online DB community?!!

(I obviously don't play BG and don't imagine I ever will at this point). Please tell me I won't have to wade through BG forum postings to find the DB posts!!!

idk about this...there's some sub-forums like amplifiers/luthiers corner that could work...but technique? recordings? BASSES? completely different worlds with regards to BG/DB.

and yes ^ i imagine you will have to search through BG posts to find something relevant to DB. not that i have much of a problem with it as i'm mainly a BG player, but i can't imagine the DBers will be happy about it.

just my thoughts, not that my opinion really matters. i'll continue to love talkbass regardless <3

Thats like saying that the tuba forum is merged with the bass guitar one, or that the flugelhorn section will now merge with the punk forum. OH NO!

We're being inundated by Wayne Schills as well.

I don't know about you guys but I'm gonna start opening BG threads in the DB forum. That'll teach the merry pranksters!

You think this is a drag, wait till they merge the "Tabs" sub-forum with "General Instruction".

This is only on the DB side, BTW.
The "Slab" side will stay pure.

Shine up yer muskets, trim yer guts, and get ready boys. On the other hand, don't. April 1 is just another day on the internet. Hopefully no one will take shot or bust a string over this announcement from the owner of TB, whatever it turns out to be.

April fools day

I had made up the following craigslist add that I was going to post today but I did not have the heart to go though with it because it was just so cruel:

" The Stupid's are in need of a Lead Guitarist, Drummer and a Screamer. We currently consist of a Bassist and a Rhythm Guitarist. We need a Lead Guitarist who can Sweep, and Solo pretty good, and a Drummer who can basically hold time. I don't know what our sound could relate to, since we don't do cover songs. We currently only have two original songs so far. So get Stupid and join the band, If your interested, call me."

Pitifully I was afraid I would get genuine responses. The times we live in

I'm picturing a nice vintage Alcoa aluminum, with a magnetic pickup, and a biga$$ whammy bar.
