I know next to nothing about this style but just played a tango written by a friend and had a blast.

He played in Kansas City for a minute which is where I knew him then he moved to LA. Last I heard he was traveling the world with a tango group with his father. I don't know any recordings with him but check out anything with the name Astor Piazzola on it.

His band is just stellar and his bassists switch between arco and pizz a lot in his music. It's really great stuff. His album "Live in Central Park" is a great overview of his music. |
