"theJazz" - new Digital (DAB) Radio Station in UK!!

Since Christmas I've been listening to this a bit and it really does play Jazz - all day!!

Unlike the defunct JazzFM which used to play anything but Jazz - it's so good to have a radio station for Jazz

http://www.thejazz.com/

For more ..

I know that in the US - you are spoiled for Jazz - but here in the UK we had no Jazz radio station until now !!

So far the selections are fairly safe and MOR-ish - but they do throw in many classics and some great DB playing - nice to hear it so clearly in DAB!

Anybody else tuned in yet?

I wouldn't say we are "spoiled" here in the US. I'm in MA and there was not always good jazz on the radio. The local station was jazz and folk and it was hit or miss sometimes with good music.

Last year I bought a satellite radio (sirius) and NOW I can listen to jazz 24 hrs a day. Best thing I've done.

I was joking a bit there - but we had nothing in the UK, apart from an hour here and there on BBC Radio 3....

Now I can leave the JAZZ on all day, while I'm working and posting on TB!!

Classic Miles playing, as I type!!

Right - I just noticed you can do that - so I suppose it might interest others in Jazz-starved areas of the world?

Usually I can't get those things to work - online media players - and I like listening to radio on my home HiFi setup - but this does seem to work pretty well via the net...

Doesn't work here.
I'm in Quebec City, and at the office right now.

Oh well - as I said, my browser set-up usually stops me listening to streamed radio - and I was surprised it worked for me - but I prefer listening on DAB through my HiFi.
