honestly i think your looking at it the wrong way..what made you start in the first place..do i think some people take to it easier or better..yes and no.some guys really have it all down fast some take ages..ask any pro whats the secret and its the same answer..practice..
if you dont love to play its always going to be harder..if your doing it to be famous or look cool or stuff like that..then just quit..to be good you have to work at it,like anything but you have to love it to begin with..and to be honest i think every single player alive has been where you are now.there will always be someone better but its not about them its about you loving what you do!!should you quit??? thats for you to decide

Does this not sound a bit weird and negative to you? You choose not to give any information in your Profile about anything much, especially where on the planet you are. How can you expect any real solid information here? You're basically saying that you don't know any other musicians, can't find any, and are thinking about giving it up. I read your only other post too and that sounds as negative as this. Hand size is not an issue......period. Basses come in sizes.
It doesn't even sound like you'd be giving anything up because it doesn't look, so far, that you've ever started anything to begin with, judging from your posts.
Want to try and share some information?

Part of you wants to be good at bass.
And part of you doesn't.

Take a guess which part of you is feeding you the negativity.

I would say, though, that until you understand your own motivation and internal conflicts, you will probably continue to sabotage most of your own plans.

Having trouble finding other musos can be a pain, but try to turn it into a strength.

Im more of an introvert anyways so I have put a lot of effort into playing the bass as a solo instrument and its working well for me. I dont have to factor in a band to identify my worth as a musician or to enjoy the music.

Too bad. I've gone down the negative road a lot myself, so I know how it can be. I'm just glad that I'm changing that pattern of thinking. It means I get to have more fun doing what I want/love/dream of, like playing bass

Double bass can be intimidating!
