Question Which tool for school?

I have ~$250 to spend on a recording tool to capture my performances in recitals while I'm in music school. Which would you recommend? Something like the Zoom H2 (audio only), or a camcorder (inferior sound) in that same price range?

I also teach DB and thought that recording my students' lessons would be instructive for them. Again same question: audio only, or A/V camcorder?

Thanks for your advice.

I'd say get the H2. A friend of mine teaches at a Univ and he records all the lessons. If he happens to give a student a less than desirable grade and a parent contacts the school b/c little Jimmy is really a great player and doesn't deserve such a grade, he just pulls out the recordings and can back up his decision with evidence.

He also records all the student performances (and his own). He has the Edirol (but same type of thing).
