Talkbass' page rank with Google is fairly high. If you use your real name, your name is on TalkBass associated with your posts. So, be aware that if someone (future employer, friend, enemy, etc) Google's your name in an attempt to find out more about you, your TalkBass posts will probably come up. Most will probably have no problem with this, but I do believe many have a legitimate reason to use aliases, and we shouldn't discriminate

| | | | I'm Brian and so is my wife Just for the record, I am now me.
On principle, I'm actually in favour of online anonymity.
On the other hand, I've posted extensively about my run-in with a terrible luthier, who I'm probably going to be taking to court. I don't need to be anonymous to trash talk that guy, in fact, I'd rather do it in the open 'cuz I stand behind everything I've said.
If I get some resolution on that I may change my name again just to keep everybody confused. |

That said, I also feel that what you just did is an even better thing for the long term health of TB and places like it. Thank you. |

I always say whatever I would if the person was standing in front of me in a bar or club - so I have no problem with using my real name.
The only reason I can think of , is if you have said something that is not true or of which you are ashamed...?
