USC Thornton School of Music: audition recording

I was wondering if anyone who has experience applying and auditioning to Thornton might be able to tell me if it's preferable to play along with an Aebersold track, or a piano/guitar and drums, for the 3-5 charts, or if playing without any backgrounds meets expectations?
