Vancouver in July

Hi all,

I'll be near Vancouver in July. I'll be busy on workdays, but on the weekends I'd try to find some places with live music or possibly even a session. Any suggestions?

thx,

Jan

I can make one suggestion. If you head over to the DudePit Forum at the Vintage Bass Trading Company and find the bassist going by the name of Smakbass. He's a Vancouver player who might be able to help you out. Enjoy Vancouver, it's a beautiful part of Canada.

Yeah, it's tough to beat Vancouver in July. There's an Italian resturant in Gas Town (you'll find it) names something like Rosalini's that has Jazz every night. Just up from the statue of Gassy Jack (seriously).

I know a guitar player up there, I'll email him and see if I get any useful info for you. enjoy.

Check out the Jazz Cellar http://www.cellarjazz.com/

There are a few different events calendars on-line you can check out as well. Don't forget Stanley Park, the Aquarium, Commercial Drive, and Granville Island Market. Have fun, it's a great place to be in July.

best,
LM

For jazz in Vancouver, check with The Coastal Jazz and Blues Society. Their 'Hotline' has event and club listings, and of course the Vancouver Jazz Festival is taking place June 23 to July 2 with performers from all over.

As mentioned, Rosselini's is good as is The Western Front and you can find many more at http://www.livemusicvancouver.com/

Hope you have a great time here wherever you go!

If you get a chance check out a bassist named Jodi Proznik.
