Violin & Cello students shopping

At an college orchestra rehearsal last night, I ran across a brother and sister looking for a cello and violin, respectively, in the 15k range. Their father flies a small plane, so reasonable travel from the Nashville area is not much of a problem. I told them I felt NY would be the most likely place to find a greater number of instruments at that range, but they would like to exhaust the possibilities a little closer first, i.e. Chicago, Cincinnati, Atlanta.

If anyone has any ideas for shopping for these guys I would appreciate your input.

Thanks,
Ike

Atlanta.

I would suggest Huthmaker's Stringed Instruments in Atlanta. I purchased my bass from them and they have some pretty impressive stuff in the violin and cello category.

FWIW
