What To Use As DB String Winder

I need to put on new strings today or tomorrow and I cannot locate my string winder. Does anyone have any ideas on what around the house, or something at Home Depot I could use for a string winder? Thanks.

I use my hands. Takes forever.

I'm not trying to be glib, jg.... I have a winder, but it really doesn't save me much time.

You could get a drill and a bit that the pegs would fit into. Then stringing your bass would take about thirty seconds.

Thanks

Thanks, Marcus and Paul,

I just ordered another string winder. Should be here by tomorrow. I found, for myself, that the winder does make it easier, and I should look into that drill indea.

Robertson's in Albuquerque sells a nice winder for power drills. I think it costs $40 or so.

...or more like $10.00 plus shipping from Bob G. or Stew Mac...
