What's with all the bad attitude lately?

Hey folks,

All of this stinky, petty sniping at each other in the newbie "What kind of basses should I get?" threads is only serving to kill off questions by younger players or answers by mild-mannered people who don't want to have to defend every word in open court.

C'mon, now. Go out and pet your dog, play some driveway basketball, or have some backyard fun with your kids. Whatever it takes to bring back some positive things to say for a change. This used to be the nicest, most civil forum on the web. Why do you feel the need to beat each other up?

I haven't been reading those threads lately, but if there seems to be anything going on in them which is out of line with the TB rules, please don't hesitate to report those posts which cross the line. It's the little "!" icon in the corner.

In the meantime, here are some cute kitties to help get the collective blood pressure back down.

I'm here to say I'm sorry for my part in that problem. Being from Brooklyn, NY makes me quick to fly off the handle.

I think it is the heat caused by global warming. Seriously though, sure seems there has been an increase in ill temper, murders, drunk driving and tolerance for n00bs.

Still confused... I checked the recent newbie-type stuff, and it looked pretty civil to me.

PS... the kittens look delicious.

Nah, Sauce just distracts from the flavor.

.
The original post is a bit old. Maybe things have gotten better. Maybe because I haven't posted in there in a while.

I remember living on Diego Garcia in the mid-80's before everyone became totally afraid to think for themselves (prior to 'polically correct' lobotamization) we strove to rid ourselves of military-related stress by punting coconut crabs or the wild chickens that populated the island. The coconut crabs would literally explode with a satisfying "crunch", while the chickens merely gave a loud "skwaak!!", leaving behind a small cloud of feathers that floated in the air for a while after our feet catapaulted the horrified hens in the general direction of the beach and the waiting sharks.

..We were horrible people, I know..
