I keep reading about pizz and arco. Can someone tell me what they are and what is the difference.

Arco= with a pick
Pizz= with a slide

Arco is to play with the bow.
Pizz is short for pizzicato, which means to pluck.

Arco is the spanish word for bow. (archet in french)

Pizzicato is an italian word that means plucking the strings with the fingers.

I don't know where ArenW got his info but he's all wrong.

Like most musical terms, arco is an Italian word.
