I was at a recording session for a song for a friend. 3 takes on my bass to get it where I liked the result. Simple song, simple results...perfect for me!
But, the biggest laugh came when I was asked to play a simple drum part for another song. It was so simple that even a guitar player could have handled it.
They were looking for the perfect floor tom hit. Just the right amount of attack and sustain to dupe over and over again. So I did. I proudly proclaimed, "28 years of playing and many lessons have brought me to one moment, 28 years of knowledge condensed down into this one hit!" Everyone was in tears from the laughter.
So, I gave them their perfect floor tom hit. It took 12 tries, but we got it.
I iz a drumr!

It was only in the last 2 years I picked up bass, banjo, guitar, fiddle, harmonica and tinwhistle.
