Weird gig last night. We are based in Tucson az. Had to drive up to Mesa az. ( about 90 miles) to play at a place called the "Red Owl". Was a REALLY small stage. There were 4 bands scheduled and we had 15 minutes to get the prior band off the stage and get us on and ready to play.
Band before us gets off the stage in like 5 minutes. coolness! I had brought my carvin RL118 AND My Fridge as well. I decided to JUST go with the fridge for fast hookup. I wheel it in slap my rack on and start hooking up.... turn it on. sounds like crap. half volume ....sigh.I check things out quick ... seems ok, just not sure what the heck is going on. The guitard is like come on this is taking too long. so I just tell the sound guy hook my pre into the pa ill just use that. we play is sounds ..."ok". but thats it.
I get home around 2. Im laying there trying to figure out what the heck was wrong. Then it dawns on me ....
A: I plugged in a single side of my amp ( and left the other speaker cable plugged in and just lying there on the danged floor! but turned down on the amplifier end)...
B: Some Idiot (namely ME) plugged into the 8Ohm "Stereo" jack. Well of course it was gonna be 1/4 the volume. I usually have a 4 ohm load on each side. The Time thing was the real pisser though. the loading door into the place was a single swing style door with about a 3 foot step as soon as you step Inside the place.Pain in the butt to bring our heavy equipment in.
Still all in all. the place filled from the one side to our side for most of our set so that was heartening at least.
But I had fun anyway. even with the aggravation.
the time thing... any other places do that routinely. 15 minutes is pretty quick it seems to me especially with a tiny doorway to go in and out of.

It's great you figured it out though--won't happen again!

I once had the active / passive input of my WT800B set to active for my passive bass. I was wonderring why I lacked my usual punch.

As for the time thing, that's what they do around here for all the fair showcases. You have 15 minutes to get the other band off stage and get all set up and ready to play, all while another band is playing their 15 minute set on the stage next to you.
