Am I the only one that does this?

Tell me if any of you do this. During the day I will start thumb slapping my body like I am playing bass and will not even realize I am doing it. Sometimes I hit by my left shoulder and it makes me look like I have some sort of a mental illness. I get a lot a grief from this. Does anyone else do this?

I sometimes do this. I usually "finger pluck" my knee with my right hand as if I'm playing a bass and air fret with my left hand. Usually when I hear a good song, even if I don't know how to play the song.

Yeah I also tend to finger things in the air with my left hand. Especially when I'm trying to remember the 3rd or 5th or a given note I'll finger it in the air because I know it by position then figure it out from there.

Nope, you're not alone...It's a pretty safe bet that if there is some music to be heard somewhere within earshot of me I will be air-bassing to it at least with my right hand against my leg or anywhere I can feel pressure when playing air

I play the outside-right seam of my jeans, while fretting the air. I play my steering wheel while sitting in traffic. I play my longneck bottle when a good song comes on the jukebox at the ice house. I play bass on my pool cue. Sometimes I realize it, sometimes I don't until someone comments on it.

And then I keep on doing it anyway.

So, I should be looking for the guy in line at the new HEB who is thumb-poppin' on the cart handle, or who is playing the bottle of wine he just bought, and I'll know its you!

LOL!

I do this, especially if I know how to play the song that I hear, or just because I get the urge to play bass at bad moments
I like to slap the table, my leg, broom handles, the doorframe....anything really!
