Amazing BBQ party, perfect music

I just had one amazing afternoon and evening, and I just wanted to share.

Let's start from the beginning. A few months ago, one of my bands (Funk, R&B, rock) 8 piece band start talking about a one whole day rehearsal, as we only get 2 to 3 hours evening rehearsals (hard to get all 8 free at same time). Time passes, and the drummer says he has a friend who will lend us his studio for the whole day, and in exchange, at night, he will have a party and we will play there. Now I have seen many friend's studios. Some have 2 mics in unfinished basement, some have 12 foot ceiling recording studios, most are somewhere in between.

Now this happened beginning of summer. We get to the house / mansion. He has a private street to take you to the house from the main road. 1st parking is for main house, 2nd parking is for guest house, 3rd parking is for studio. The mansion is on the lake, and its green of trees and landscape all over. The studio, probably 24 X 60 feet, has 3 patio doors seeing the lake, and huge windows above the doors, and also on the cathedral ceiling of the studio, more windows. Can I say paradise. We do our rehearsal, and at night, about 60 people show up for beer, wine, BBQ and fun music from us.

He calls us last week saying he is gonna have a mega party, and he wants us & others to play at this party. He is expecting 150+ people in his backyard, and the music will be played outside. Crazy good music all night, about 8 gtrs, 3 bass players, 2 drummers, 3 keyboardists (one of witch brought his B3 and Leslie!!!! wow), very good vocals, harmonica, lots of percussion, even a violin player. Some of the 'spontanious' jams were so-so, but many were freaking amazing. I had as much fun playing as I did listening to others.

Unfortunately, I had to leave early as my day tomorrow is quite busy, but I am sure the party will last till very late, or till the cops decide its enough, lol.

Congratulations, Yamaha. Glad to hear someone tell a take which only had positives! Except for maybe your having to leave early
