Up for auction is a Vintage Samick all wood bass guitar, it is a 5 string bass, it was second hand when I bought it. It is in used condition but works and sounds fresh and bright, with full B# bass notes (I think that is what the top string is!) the strings are fine with no damage or stretch. the guitar stays in tune with the machine heads working smoothly and accurately. I have used a new 9v Duracell battery to make sure the Active Electric Pickups are working as expected, the Gold Plating on the control knobs are showing signs of wear, but again these all turn smoothly with no noises.

I was looking through ebay this morning and came across this description. I'm this sort of thing gets posted all the time with non-musos trying to sell instruments. Made me laugh though!

Could be a graphite Samick with an ebanol fretboard. You never know.

No stretch on the strings, that's not good.

I was also a little concerned that turning the knobs gives no sound

Of course no stretch. The bass is all wood, didn't you see? No wonder those wood strings don't stretch. I'm guessing the wood pickups sound pretty dull too and the wood tuners probably don't work so hot either.

Oh the B Sharps! That's what I'm gonna name my band. Oh, wait, Homer Simpson named their acapella group that already, dammit! All the good names are already taken...

It was like that time I saw a posting of a trumpet someone found in their loft, they reassured potential buyers that "all the plungers work well"
