I've found out the hard way that the ports on the back of 4x10 cabs from Eden and SWR are the perfect size to allow a cat to "take up residence" inside !

My loveable cat Ollie loves all my gear, but especially the cabs. O if the basses are out he will curl up to them as well.

When my 2 cats were wee kittens, they used to use my Mesa 8x10 as a timeshare.

I've got three lovable rascals of the feline variety. So far none of have taken to sleeping on any of my amps, but I did have to train one of em' to stop using one of my tolex covered cabs as a scratching post when I had it out of it's storage tarp. I can only imagine how popular a carpet covered cab can be with cats.

Haha, my cat does the same thing, usually when I'm playing.

Hay guys, I am new round here but have a little story for your.
A friend of mine had a family of mice move in the port hole.
He blasted them and, nothing. He rolled the amp about, still nothing.
Then one day he was at a gig and two mice walked out to see what all the noise was about.
As far as I know they still live in there.

Maddnes I tell you!!

My cat sprayed my cab once, luckily he was already fixed, so it didn't smell like anything.

Turn the volume to max.
Cut the treble.
Boost the bass.
Plug in your bass.
Open the amp.
Kick the E string.

There's a thread on basses and cats, cats really like basses.

Not bass related, but one of my roommates in college was a keyboard player and we'd often jam with people in our dorm. The unfortunate thing was that his cat had peed on his keyboard when he was in high school. The only lasting effect was that if he played the C above middle C, it wouldn't stop playing that note even after he took his finger off. He'd have to turn the keyboard off to make it stop.

Ruined a number of jams to hear "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee - Sorry guys, cat pee."

I have never had a problem with animals getting too cosy with my gear.

Although, my friends cat liked to play with my old strings after I restrung my bass at his house.

My dog gets really frightened though when I crank my new 4x10. They don't like loud noises

step 1: turn on amp (not too loud!!)

step 2: Hit a low B and let it ring.

step 3: cat gone.
