Hey folks!
Well, this topic shouldn't really be funny but.... you gotta admit some stories can be hilarious
So, what injuries have you sustained playing bass guitar? or just through musical instruments in general.
I'll start, I once dropped a bass guitar on my foot, doesnt sound too bad, but theycan hurt. |

He was pretty wasted, and dancing like a jackass right up close to the band. Well, he was making a scene and ruining the mood. He came right up to me and my bass, started to pretend to eat the bass strings up by the headstock. I had enough of this guy, so I whacked him midsong right in the teeth with one of the tuning pegs. He stumbled backwards holding his mouth, sat at the bar and passed out. No more trouble from him that night! |

Was just one of those co-ordination less days, and both times with enough to make my head throb for a good few minutes after, and no, I was not trying to do any stunts.

My left (fretting) hand (when clenching) down by the pinky/side of the hand has been giving me reasonable amounts of pain and discomfort for the last 2 weeks, so I've got a doctor's appointment to see wh at's up, and potentially some x-rays. Hopefully it's nothing too serious.. I've got an audition for a second band (I'm in one band, and I jam and write with a friend from high school regularly), so this will be horribly devastating if I have to stay off bass/computer for a coupel weeks or something.. especially since my job involves using a computer for 8 hours a day. |

(yes, on bass with a pick, I know I know..) slammed the side of my right hand down hard on the G-string adjusting screw on my badass2 bridge. Didnt stop playing, didnt miss a beat but it hurt like all hell. Did get me some recognition with the blood spattered on my bass and strings. "Dude, that is so f*rkin HARD core!" Finished the set, casually sauntered into the bathroom and shrieked and wailed like a little girl cradling my wittle boo-boo'ed mitt.

Got lucky and was not hurt (except my pride).

We just started playing a cover for encore... Killin gin the name of, so after the few bars, when the main riff starts, i swirl around, not looking back, and hit my singer with the headstock on the throat.
She took some heavy breaths, but was fine and started to sing in time. |

| | | | Strap slipped from the bridge end of my bass.... of course i was still holding the neck,, and the body swung pendulum style swinig the headstock towards my face and planted a tuner into my mouth chipping a few teeth.... |
