I am young and recently joined a band, we had a practice on saterday to get ready fo an audition on Monday, we have a horrible mic so I have to shout blitzkrieg bop as loud as I can and lost my voice, so I had to do an audition sounding like a 80 year old man, we passed but a week later my voice is still screwed

Take singing lessons. I'm serious! It IS possible to PERMANENTLY damage your voice or lose it all together.

Step 1: DO NOT TALK anymore than is absolutely necessary. Your vocal folds need to be at rest to heal.
Step 2: Drink warm fluids. My voice teacher (who happens to be a performing opera singer) said to drink tea with honey and lemon or tangerine peel...and stay QUIET!
Step 3: (see step #1)
Step 4: Grab the phone book and find a reputable singing teacher
Step 5: (see step #1)

...Oh yeah...did I mention STAY QUIET AND DON'T TALK?

If you follow the advice I posted which came from my voice teacher and I've had to use myself, your voice should be back to normal within 3 days or so.

As far as singing lessons, a voice teacher who knows what they are talking about will teach you how to breath properly and how to use your diaphram and belly muscles to push the air to give you the volume you need. We hurt our throats when we try to pull the volume (the air) up using our throats (and vocal folds). When you push the the volume (the air) up using your diaphram, your throat is relaxed and is pretty much resting doing nothing more than shaping the sound as the air passes through. That's the reason that opera singers can sing a 4 hour show at amazingly loud volume and walk off stage without any change in their voices. It takes practice to develop the feel for it, but once you do, you will find it rather comfortable and you'll easily be able to sing as loud as you need without problems.
