My name's Will. I'm 20, and been playing guitar and fiddling with bass for four yearsish. i'm drifting somewhat stagnantly through the pflugerville area. I don't own any insturments at the moment, but i'm hoping to fix that soon. I do guitar (acoustic or electric) and bass and some vox.
Looking to jam and put some stuff together in the area of psychedelic/indie/grunge or possibly some metal.

I prefer acoustic guitar, but i've been toying with the idea of switching to bass as a main insturment because of a recent change in playing style.
VERY 420 friendly.
Location isn't a problem since i don't actually live anywhere.

Some main influences:
Red Hot Chili Peppers,
Nirvana,
The Doors
Tenacious D,
Led Zepplin,
Pink Floyd,
Tool,
System of a down,

I don't get to check my email, so hit me up at 512-415-9120.
(to any san marcos musicians, i've been looking for a reason to head back that way)
So....any takers?

"VERY 420 friendly" Translation: I'm too poor to buy my own weed, so I'll be inclined to jam with you if you have some to get me high.

Don`t forget the instrument and amp. Oh, and a place to live, while you`re at it...with a computer.

If this guy crossed off Nirvana and added Dream Theater or Symphony X, he'd be VERY close to my influences. But he seems a little expensive. haha

Anybody that lists Tenacious D as an influence and uses the word vox . . .

Well what can I say.

Let's hit the highlights:
  • I don't own any insturments at the moment
  • VERY 420 friendly.
  • Location isn't a problem since i don't actually live anywhere
  • I don't get to check my email

Translation: I'm a homeless pothead with no instrument or computer. Who could pass up a guy like this in their band?

before answering this question, I must first say that I do not, nor have I ever, smoked weed. 420 is a pot reference, I'm not quite sure where it came from, maybe a bunch of high-schoolers got out of school and smoked pot every day at 4:20 pm., or maybe 4:20 am, I'm really not sure. Anyways every april 20th, all the potheads like to gather and smoke weed, or maybe just turn it into some lame-oid protest and smoke weed en masse in public.

side-note: april 20th is also Hitler's birthday.

So let me get this straight. You have no place to live, do not own any instruments, have limited access to the internet and do drugs. Your parents must be so proud.

I have a question. Why are you wasting everyone's time by asking if they want to jam with you? Get your life in order first.

On second thought, maybe I am being too harsh. To quote Tom Petty "Even the losers, get lucky some time".

I often wondered the same thing so I did some research. Here is what I found at

http://parentingteens.about.com/cs/m...420meaning.htm

According to Steven Hager, editor of High Times, the term 420 originated at San Rafael High School, in 1971, among a group of about a dozen pot-smoking wiseacres who called themselves the Waldos, who are now pushing 50. The term was shorthand for the time of day the group would meet, at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur, to smoke pot. Intent on developing their own discreet language, they made 420 code for a time to get high, and its use spread among members of an entire generation.
