Ok , I'll the just list off the **** thats been happening in order ;

1 The stock cord that came with the bass got fried a while ago , so it doesnt work any more .

2 I had an old replacement cord , which is so ****ed up that it hardly gives me any volume out of the amp .

3 I bought a cord from a shop thats so far from my place that it takes me atleast 2 hours to get there , and 2 hours to get back , and it's one of the only decent shops in this city . Since I wasnt myself present at the shop , and had a relative get it for me , it turns out that the cord totally did not work . Needless to say you can understand my frustration .

4 I travelled the entire 3 hours going + 3 hours back distance yesterday , to get the cord replaced from the shop , and got it tested to see if it works . It did . Came back home . Played through the night . Got up in the morning , and connected the bass , and all I get is this huge mass of Noise , the kind you get when you unplug the cord from the amp without shutting it first . And now it doesnt work again .

Anyways , just needed to rant out that **** . I got college exams this upcoming week , I wont be able to go to the shop unless I have some other special reason to going there . So I'm left in the hope that this pathetic cord that I have had for a century holds up till then .

Sounds like you are having more of an amp problem than a "cord" problem.

Yes very strange to have 3 bad cords in a row, and one of them new. Are you sure there is nowhere else closer?

It sounds more like an amp, bass eletronics issue. Do you have any other guits that you can plug into that amp? Or do you have any other aps to plug your bass into?

If it IS the cords, just wait it out, and order a nice cable online1

I agree it's probably not a cord issue - especially the low output. Too many other variables. I'm lucky enough to have three decent stores within 10 minutes of my house, but a lot of times I still do the mail order thing...

Sorry , I forgot to mention the most important thing that does justify that it's a cord issue . The amp's running fine with an older cord I got as I mentioned above , and the same cord works with another amp I got , and the faulty cord doesnt work with either of them . So yeah it's pretty much a cord issue .
