OK here's a funny story I'd like to share.
I've been playing with these guys for a little over a year, strictly Saturday night basement stuff but fun. Classic rock / blues rock stuff.
During the year I was kicked out of the band twice. The first time the guitar player basically disbanded, he told us it was so he can concentrate on originals. He had a change of heart and invited us all back about a month later.
The second time was after the drummer tried to get this band to play at a block party he was hosting. The guitar player did not want to leave the basement but the reset of the band wanted to do it - a no pressure fun thing with a few other bands. The drummer with my help convince the guitar player to play the party. Two days before the block party we all get an email from the guitar player saying he is kicking everyone out of the band except the lead singer and the part time harmonica player. This time to concetrate on classic rock and blues tunes

Basically it was me, the drummer and the guitar palyer's wife (keyboard player) that was kicked out of the band.
The very next day I get an email to come get my equipment out of his basement because it will get in the way of the new band. So that night I go pick up my 112XLT and guitar stand - must have been taking up a lot of room

- He wasn't there so his wife, the fired keyboard player lets me in. She is completely bummed - I felt bad for her.
I go on to play the block party with the drummer and another guitar player he knows - we have a great time. The drummer's old band also reunites at this party.
A few weeks later the guitar player starts calling, and emailing - he can't find a bass player ....
So - I relent and as I have no hard fellings I come back again. The keybard playing wife has rejoined the band as well. The drummer is not asked back and the part time harmonicat has moved on.
For almost the whole month of December we don't play - a scheduling thing, seems a different member can't make it on different weeks. They want to play the Saturday after New Years but this one time I can't make it as I already told the fired drummer I would come check out his re-united band playing out that night. Well I guess it's OK for everyone else but me to miss a Saturday so the guitar player sends me an email telling me he needs to know if he can count on me as a their bass player, or if they should start looking for a new bass player. Basically giving me an ulimatum of playing that Saturday or get kicked out of the band again. After thinking about it for a while I realize that it is not worth the BS to play with these guys so I tell him he's right - he needs a bass player he can count on so I'm leaving the band to allow them to find a permanent bass player, and I go see my old drummer's other band play that Saturday night.
Last week, I get a voice message from the guitar player while I'm at work. You guessed it, he can't find a bass payer would I please come back - everybody wants me back ...
This was out of the blue, I hadn't heard from him for 6 weeks since I quit the band.
I was not going back, but I meantt to call him, as I really have no hard feelings, but I guess I didn't call quick enough, two days after the voice message I get this email from him:
