I have a band that is just starting out. We have gone through many name changes and I'd like opinions on which is best.

BLAK-OUT
A.Band
Liquid Angst
Dead Monkeys Living
Black Heaven

Right now we're using Liquid Angst.
Thanks

Dude,

If I saw that "Dead Monkeys Living" were playing, I'd be there in a second

I've always been partial to "Bronco Billy and the Ball Bustin' Bull-Dykes", but that's just me, and not, apparently, on your short list.

Therefore, I like Biski's suggestion.

so you like Dead Monkeys Living? I came up with that one. We've got a logo for all of 'em except A.Band.

no offense or anything, but the idea is to give me your opinion on a name, not describe the creative process that goes into thinking up a name

Hey, no offense taken, but as I read the thread, I had this vision...

Wow! was I that close? It was only a guess!

I can just picture it now; the band members getting ready for a rehearsal, the question is asked: "OK youse guys, b4 we sturt ar rehurzel, phurst tinks furst, letz cum up wid a grate nam fer usselfs, um... er..." (3 hrs later...) "...ur, eniwon got enee idehars yett..." (3 more hours pass...) "...er um well er lik eyve got two go ter skule termorer so c ual at nechst pwaktize er keep finkin abwot a nam fur su"

AUDIBLE YEAST is a fave of mine. I found it on a band name generator. Look those up if you are out of ideas.

How about this, a slight modification to one of your ideas:

Dead Monkeys Live!

(instead of living)

That way, when you're playing a show, the banner could go like this:

Dead Monkeys Live!

and people wouldn't know whether the name was dead monkeys live! (as in, playing tonite) or dead monkeys live! (as in, zombies and stuff.)

Yeah, "Bad Ass Bass," if youre going to be a contributing member of TB, dont make crappy negative mean posts like that. If your name is "Bad Ass Bass," you dont have much room to make fun of other peoples names! Seriously, that wasnt cool. If you want to have peoples respect here, dont do that.

"Liquid Angst" is cool, but makes me think of electronic music, acid jazz, or dance music. I'm not sure what type of music you play, but that name has a techno sound to it. I'm certain it isn't a country band or Christian rock. It certainly isn't blue grass. Maybe it is alternative.

I think dead monkeys living is a freakin great name. Go with that one man.

The name of my metal band is Hydrochloric.

My old band in NH was Evilyns Pillbox.
