I did a quick search but couldn't find anything.
Just a conversation about band vehicles:
Don't really have a story to go along with it but I currently have a Dodge Ram to haul the gear around.
So what band vehicles do y'all have? |

| | | | 2004 PT Cruiser... Good enough for my gear plus the P.A.
But everyone else needs their own vehicle.

| | | | I transport my gear in a '93 Subaru Legacy wagon. Funny story, I was on the way to a buddy's house to jam with my Sunn 410H standing up faced toward the hatch. I was in the mood to listen to really bassy music, so I tossed in one of those subwoofer competition CDs and let my car stereo loose. I didn't think about it till I noticed people staring at my car, they thought the subs were the cabinet =)

Great buy. Now, with some nice Tetris action, I can just barely fit my rig into my '97 Celica hatchback. No passengers, though.

For small gigs, and in the Summer - Chrysler Sebring Convertible. With the top down, holds my rig, the PA and 2 basses.

We can hold one or two of my basses, two of my amps, and all of our drummer's crap (except drum mikes). Once, we borrowed a truck that had a covered bed. That was AMAZING. We held all the aforementioned junk, PLUS A REFRIDGERATOR! That was awesome.

-Ampeg 2x15 in the back seat
-Peavey 1x15 in the front seat
-Peavey MarkVI head in the trunk
-1 or 2 Basses also fit in the trunk
-Pedals/cords all fit in a bag on the floor of the front seat
For the whole band, Some oldish Econoline 15 passenger van.

If anyone has some good ideas, they will be of tremendous help! We were thinking of getting the classic "hostage vans", AKA big DHL vans. There was a dodge 2500 if I remember correctly that could hold 11 people, and this is the kind of vehicle that would be perfect.
Note: We need to move 2 412's, 2 410's, a full drumset, 2 10 unit racks, and still have room left over for a PA in the future. |

| | | | Way back when, I used to have a trick to tuck an Acoustic 406 neatly into the backseat of a Fiat 124. Nowadays a 370/301 fits into the back of a HHR with plenty of room to spare - not a challenge at all & still room for a front-seat passenger!
I've been in bands where we used a limo to transport personnel. While it may have seemed a little pretentious, it was really cost-effective vs. driving 4-6 individual cars.

But not the PA. If the PA has to go it has to go in a separate vehicle. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
