Ok, here is a try at them:
1. Thou Shout NOT traverse to thy Local Guitar center, and immediately start slapping thy bass through an 8x10 at full volume.
2. Tho shalt serve the needs of the song before thine own needs, and not spew forth bass diarrhea when a solid groove is called for.
3. Thou Shalt not take bass playing in vain...
4. Honor thy bar gig, and keep it rockin, and Nor shalt thy forsake the groove,
(we don't do that here - Mod)
5. Thy Shalt not play with illegal fire works, or your bass playing days wont be long.  .... or better yet, have thy guitarist light thy m-80!
6. Thou shalt not dessicrate thy bass guitar (smash/relic thy bass)
7. Thou shalt not utter the devils words: Which bass be thine best for metal?
8. Thou Shat NOT butcher thy song, and then call it yours.
9. Thou SHALT NOT Lie about what bands thy plays/has played in.
10. Thou SHALT not covet thy guitar player's sound space, nor covet thy 4 string, and say it is better than thy fiver or 6 string, likewise, don't covet Thy fiver or thy 6-string and say its better than Thy 4-string.
Good eh? im updating some of the commandment numbers, so this list can be a list of bass player commandments made by the people of talk bass! ill add the GOOD ONES ONLY!

It doesn't matter how many strings your bass has, as long as you're getting the job done. |

Even Mozart was "inspired" by those before him. 9. Thou SHALT NOT Lie about what bands thy plays/has played in. - Never even considered this. I don't doubt you, but people are strange. 10.
