i only read it because the subscription was a gift from a friend. every time a new issue comes in, i scan through it then toss it in the pile with the rest of them. they'll all go to recycling soon enough. i don't think i'll miss much when the subscription ends.

It's like Zen... when you get it, you no longer read the books on it. I rarely read BP... I'd rather play the bass.

They've got a better magazine out for reviews now.

It means that female bass players can go to the kiosk and buy a magazine that reminds them of their childhood!!!!

i read it, the guy seems like a cool guy--he had an opportunity and took it...it's by no means my 'kind of music', but i wouldn't blame someone for taking an opportunity like that when it presents itself...the interview wasn't that bad

i recently gave BP another shot after not renewing a couple of years ago, and i experienced some difficulties receiving my first 2 issues, but i had the chance to email Jonathan Herrera for help clearing things up, and he's a stand up guy--and doing a good job with a limited budget, imo

he seems like someone who is open to ideas and suggestions

Yeah the guy is 22 years old and probably plays in front of more people in one month than most of the idiots that post on here play in their whole career. Must suck to be him.

+100

BP is supposed to be a magazine about bassists, not a fanboy magazine about bass heroes. The dude with the Jonas Brothers sounds like a very successful working bassist. Any bassist who actually wants to make a living with his instrument, would be silly not to consider a gig like that if it became available.

Yeah, I'd say it would be worth the ridicule from other bassists to take that gig. You could probably earn enough money to retire on if you stuck with them long enough.

The bassist FOR the Jonas Brothers isn't ONE of the Jonas Brothers and thus should not be hated. Also, since when is stuff like an in depth interview with Miroslav Vitous or Christian McBride and a full transcription of a Jimmy Johnson bassline for an Allan Holdsworth song not worth anything?
